# Generate documents in bulk with a flow

Whether from a list view or from a trigger, generate documents in bulk

## Action name: "Generate multiple document (<50 000 records)"

**Bulk generation action**

Generate several documents at once from a list view.

### Get the records

* Give it a label and an API name
* Get the records from the object of your context. (E.g. generating certifications from contacts)
* Filter the records with the following requirement:

| Property     | Value |
| ------------ | ----- |
| **Field**    | Id    |
| **Operator** | In    |
| **Value**    | ids   |

### Create the ids variable

To fill in the Value field, create a new resource:

* **Resource Type**: Variable
* **API Name:** ids
* **Data Type:** Text
* Allow multiple values (collection)
* Available for input
* Confirm

{% hint style="danger" %}
**Warning**

The name is case-sensitive: name it exactly "ids"
{% endhint %}

### Add the Generate Multiple Document action

Add the action to the page layout of your main object.

* From Setup, in the Object Manager, go to the object from which you want to launch the generations.
* Go to the Buttons, Links, and Actions tab
* Create a new button of the List Button type
* Enter the label of your choice (e.g. Generate certifications)
* Paste the flow URL into the link.
* From the list view button layout tab, add the new button and save.
* Confirm and test

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Tip**

You can find your flow URL in the flow details.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://university.gonexa.fr/doc/en/advanced-features/doc-and-flows/bulk-generate-documents-with-flow.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
